Publisher's Description
Mozilla Firefox is by far the best feature-rich and fastest browser out there, but with the passage of time it slows down considerably. It will take a lot of time to load during startup, the overall speed will be effected, and browsing Histories will be too slow. This is very common problem and it occurs largely because of fragmentation of databases.
SpeedyFox is a brand new small utility that fixes this problem with a single click! It seems unbelievable but after you optimize your Firefox with this tool, you will get a fresh newly-installed feel because the speed indeed gets considerably faster. You will get up 3 times faster startup speed, browsing history will become faster, and performing operations with cookies will be quicker than before.

While this program didn't cause any problems, it also did not speed things up. I'm using both Thunderbird and Firefox. The profiles got over a meg LARGER after running this program. Didn't time the start times, but feels about the same. Maybe if you don't know how to click on File, Compact Folders, in Thunderbird, this might help. I'm using an old mechanical drive on this machine, fwiw.

Tried this App again, I am now using Chrome Version 44.0.2403.18 beta-m (64-bit)
It still does NOT speed up Chrome opening by even 1 second and PLEASE don't tell me the name is SpeedyFox so Chrome doesn't count, read about the App please. It is for Chrome as well supposedly and it doesn't work by even 1 second in speed increase! It might be free but it does nothing on my Win 7 X64 system with Chrome Browser!

This is *not* a new app. It's been around for a long time but I don't think I've seen it updated or talked about in many years. This used to be handy back in the early Firefox days when 5400 RPM HDs were still on desktops and laptops. It did help speed things up somewhat. Nowadays, the code has gotten tighter but the databases are what have become the bottleneck. So with those components, Speedyfox can help. Somewhat. On a modern system with an SSD, it's basically pointless. Firefox will integrate SQlite 3.8.7.2 into version 35 and this will tweak the databases for faster performance. There's only so much blood you can squeeze from a stone. For now, it's useful, come January, not so much.
