Spin It Again lets you easily record your old vinyl records and cassettes to CD. Not only will it make the whole recording and track dividing process child's play, but it will also clean your recordings by getting rid of click and pop record noise, or by removing hiss and hum off old cassette recordings. You can also record your records and cassettes directly to your iPod or portable MP3 player.

"Spin It Again" is, so far, the best software I have come across to transfer music from cassette to CD, and will try it from LP soon. Don't have to do much to get a superb result, even from a rather scratchy old cassettes.

There are other programs out there, some even free, that do many of the things Spin It Again does, but none that I tried did everything and none of them made the process this easy.
Give the trial a go, I bought mine after the first two CD's I made.

After trying 3 other programs, this is the one I bought. It was the simplest and easiest to use by far, but you still have the option to modify and tweak it on just about any level you might need.
The quality of my Cd's is amazing. I have several Sheffield Lab LP's and the converted CD versions are spectacular.
If you chose to use the auto track detection, you should check to be sure it hasn't cut a song off... but it's easy to do and certainly makes the whole process much simpler. The auto setting for line input was accurate and in my case didn't need any changes.
The options to clean up hiss, ticks and pops, should cover just about anything you might run into and still leave you with a recording that sounds "unmodified".
One of the best programs I have used in years.

This is exactly what I have been looking for. I am using it to make MP3s of LPs that are in my collection that are not available on CD. The auto track detection works fairly well. I would not expect it to be perfect (and it is not) but it get close and the interface allows very easy tweaking of the track splits.

Yes, it is on the expensive side, but that is relative..IMHO.
With 100,s of LP's and 45's in my collection it did an excellent jpb of transferring them to CD and/or MP3's.(Although I am not yet finished)
Yes it takes getting used to how it does what it does, and I had to ask them several questions. The customer support was very good.
Pros
-the wizard to set recording levels
-the program REALLY can recognize tracks (99% of the time)
-it REALLY does and excellent job to remove pops and clicks form vinyl recordings.
CONS
-if you are used to using Easy Creator, you need to read the manual and pay attention to the tutorials on their web page.
-with their "trial" version you get only three(3) opportunities to use the software, it is not based on time, like most of the compitition. So you need to get to know the application in a hurry.
Overall, I would rate this program highly and recommend it to those who value their "old" vinyl recordings and want to keep listening to them on CD or MP3 format.

It's sort of like a Nero SmartStart menu for recording. It has a track cutting feature (which I haven't yet tried), but these are known to not always work (the condition of the record can affect them). I've also found it better to manually edit the waveforms instead of using automatic approaches. The automatic systems can make undesireable changes.
$35 seems a little pricy considering that it mainly just records the material. There are many freeware programs that will do that. (I use a program that came with my sound card.) Most of the work still comes from manually putting the record on the player and starting and stopping it. It does burn the music, but if one has a CD burner then one likely has software to use.
It's also coming out at a time when many don't even own a turntable anymore. Most people interested in doing this have already found a way.
It does make the job a little less complicated, but chances are that most who try it will already be technically savvy.
