Publisher's Description
SquirrelMail is a standards-based webmail package written in PHP4. It includes built-in pure PHP support for the IMAP and SMTP protocols, and all pages render in pure HTML 4.0 (with no JavaScript required) for maximum compatibility across browsers. It has very few requirements and is very easy to configure and install. It has all the functionality you would want from an email client, including strong MIME support, address books, and folder manipulation.

I use squirrelmail, and I have for many years. Its showing its age, especially in the "web 2.0" world. Seriously, its been a 1996-looking webmail client for a long time.

Need a lot of improvements.
- Size view and size sorting.
- It can Not delete any mail, if the mailbox capacity is full.
and others improvements.
I mostly use neomail now.
I hope squirellmail improving their products, and make easier to impelement it.

Is it a new beta release or what? 'Cause I've been using v.1.5.1 for several months now (The "Fire in the Hole" Release, released in Feb 2006).
In any case, I don't think anybody is going to update, cause it's a pain in the a** to rewrite the code anew every time a new version comes out. I spent at least 15 hours making adjustments to the official release, don't feel like spending another 15 hours to adjust a new version to my needs

Its a webmail package. You need a Web Server running PHP in order to use it, and an IMAP Server to connect to in order to actually do anything with it.
If you're just an end user looking for how to get your mail from the web, you should contact whoever provides your email.
