This is a great program, and for any of ye guys to figure it out, dvd shrink is for really only copying dvds, this product is great for ripping dvds to svcd, vcd and avi on to your hard drive, which means you can have a quite large collection of movies in a hard drive for nothing, also if you have a dvd r/rw player for your tv, most of these players have a 2.0 usb port which you can connect a external hd onto, and since those dvd players read svcd, vcd, avi, divx u wont need a dvdr for a while, the quality is good and the program is awsome BUY IT, or crack it its worth the money though

VCD?? Isn't VCD dead now.... "No expensive DVD burner required", you can get a DVD burner for just a little more than the price of a CD burner and the DVD media is not much more than CD media. This has to be someones sick joke :)
Even for a about $20 more than the price of this program you could get a DVD burner and then use the free DVDShrink to make backups of your DVDs and have much higher quality backup.

Shrink to VCD, what is the use?? As cheap as DVD burners and DVD media are now, there is no reason to take the extra time to convert to low quality VCD when you can use DVDShrink or any of the other DVD utilities to convert your DVD to a DVDR. They should stop development of the program or change it over to a DVD > DVDR shrinking app instead of DVD > VCD.

I sure would like to pay $40 to use this software to do what DVD Decrypter/DVD Shrink do for free, and do better. No thanks.

I would say something but Lokheed was gracious enough to already say it for me. (except I been getting my blank DVD's for more like 22 cents each lately)

Oh brother, Richard30ky, friend of the developer or what?
A perfect rating for a $40 application which does what countless upon countless of free programs do? 2 hours for a full encode eh. That is obviously a one pass encode which would mean crap quality.
You can take full advantage of video newbies with your ugly as sin GUIs and claims of this and that...any real video encoder would fall to ground laughing even if you offered this piece of junk for free...
Another greedy wannabe coder who thinks he can cash in on the video craze. To bad a DVD burner is about $60 now...you are just a little to late buddy...about 3 years to late. Divx is dead and who wants to encode in SVCD when DVDs are 50 cents a piece...garbage even if it was released in 2000, pure garbage.

very good all in one app ..easy to use for beginers
MPG videos takes 2 cd,s and they come out as the usual MPG quality and on divX you can get high quality movie on 1 cd without any problems what so ever .produced my best high quality 1 cd divx movies with this one also it is very fast compare to most converts 4GB DVD to 700MB DivX in about 1:48 mins.and i like the fact you can try the software without limitations ..meaning you can make a few full movies to see if this software is for you or not.A+ to the creator

What the poster of the app fails to point out is that when burned to CD the quality will not be anywhere near as good as it is on DVD, and that it will take several CDs to hold a DVD's worth of content.
