I've been using this app for 15 years or more. Those who do not know how to use it properly or who don't know which specific settings it tweaks do not benefit from it nor know what they are talking about. These types always complain that this tool claims to "Makes your Internet faster!" yet doesn't. No moron, that's not what it does. If you're paying for 10Mb speed, you'll still have 10Mb speed after using this tool.

Since the Windows 2000 days, Windows defaults its TCP settings to assume a worst case Network/Internet connection scenario. Those defaults changed somewhat beginning in the Windows 7 days (albeit with some gimmicky but useful new advances in TCP tech (congestion control, etc.).

TCPOptimizer simply takes those worst case scenario TCP settings and assumes you have a decent Internet/Network connection and just tweaks all tweakable TCP settings to assume you have a stable and fast setting whilst also leveraging tweaks to make your network related drivers be more performant.

Simply right-click and Run As Admin > Chose the "Optimal" setting > click Apply Changes and reboot when prompted. Now enjoy a faster and more responsive Internet/Network connection.

If you don't believe it, use speedtest.net before and after using this tool. You will notice your sustained D/L and U/L speeds stay at the top of the meter. This is #1 in my IT toolbox and I've been at this for 30+ years.

Am using this on Windows 10, and works well! Noticeable speed difference when surfing in general. For those who really wish to get their hands dirty, program allows you to tweak certain registry settings to your hearts desire.

FINALLY! Proper Win8.x+ support. Been waiting on this for a few years now. Any IT tech worth their mettle has this in their toolbox. Works splendidly and squeezes *every* last ounce of performance from both the OS/TCP stack and network connection.

Pros: These network tweaking programs for the most part are SNAKE OIL. You can see this when doing a speed test like Speakeasy.

The networking reset tools are good though, those help when certain Malware, etc. corrupts the TCP/IP stack.

Cons: Snake Oil

Bottom Line: Does little or nothing.
