Thoosje Vista Sidebar for Microsoft Windows XP and Vista has gadgets like media players, google search, yahoo search and lots of more search engines. It has also gadgets like weather and system uptime and lots of more useful gadgets. The sidebar uses 50% less RAM and is faster than the original Microsoft Sidebar with more extras.
The Vista Sidebar saves gadgets settings at start-up so they won't reset to default settings but now everything is stored in the registry. The Sidebar has more skins, including longhorn skins and skins of the windows sidebar in early stages. there are more clocks, and other gadgets. The Sidebar also has docking so it's easier to organize all gadgets now.

Still no application launcher which makes it useless as far as I'm concenerd. Better functionality but still misses the boat.
Get your head out guys - a dockable sidebar cries out for an app launcher. This is your third revision and it' still nowhere in evidence. You need to either start supporting Windows Gadgets (preferable but arguably difficult) or implement an app launcher of your own. Have a look at this one:

It's the feature set that anyone would come to expect from a mature sidebar app launcher.
ONE star.

One word:
NO!
No app launcher - that's the most stupid oversight. Resource Hog. Slow. Incompatible with real Vista Sidebar gadgets - you must rely on author to implement what he thinks you need. No open API so that anyone can build gadgets. Doesn't play well with Windows Magnify.
Pretty fluff - that's all. Google Sidebar and Desjktop Sidebar both eat this for breakfast and spit out the bones.
ONE star.

What a load of garbage. It's slow, incompatible with other utilities that change the screen like Microsoft Magnifier, has limited gafgets and in general is just a poorly written piece of crap.
Desktop Sidebar blows the doors off this in terms of code quality, speed and versatility.
It's not worth the download bytes and Broadband is cheap.
ONE star for crap with no future.

its a beautiful design but it has 2 pieces of spyware in it, it doesnt effect the performance but it seems to be spyware that collects data so if u have something important on your pc, then dont use it.

in spite of it's a good ui enhancement software, there are some annoyances. for instance it cannot remember which skin you choose for the clock. even you choose different skin from the default one, it shows the default skin when you restart it. and it's a memory-eater monster.

Well done Vista-sidebar-clone. Uses only half the resources of the original. Finaly remembers all settings. Only loses the custom-rss-url. But it´ll get fixed, I´m shure. Hats up!

I think I saw an earlier version of this program and it was fairly impressive.
However, THIS version does nothing but sit in my process list taking up memory. I see no sidebar, no tray icon, nothing. All it does is randomly open and close other running processes as far as I can tell...
