Publisher's Description

TimelyWeb helps you track updates of Web pages and ftp resources. When the change is detected, TimelyWeb can notify you in a number of ways including automatic opening of the Web page in a browser, sending an e-mail, SMS, instant messenger message or just showing a message so that you can do the proper action manually. It can check keywords in Web pages or exclude parts of Web page text (like counters or time). It can also highlight all changes in Web pages. Both static and dynamically generated resources can be monitored. If the resource is protected, TimelyWeb will login automatically. You can vary check interval from minutes to months, and secify it individually for every page or resource.

You would have thought this sort of functionality would be integrated into every browser by now, seeing as it was in Netscape 3.0 about five years ago. Mysteriously it seemed to have disappeared in newer versions of Netscape (or just convoluted itself to the point where I overlooked it), and "subscriptions" / "offline browsing" are a joke at trying to replace / augment this simple feature. Why scanning for updated bookmarks automatically within the browser hasn't been implemented fully in IE / NS yet is beyond me. So simple.

great idea, i'd like to give them a hand for thinking of it. now the problem is their product, ideas are one thing, development is another. the banners are horrible, interface is ugly and slugish. irritating installer for this one, but what do you expect in a beta. when you run the installer it sticks a "CUSTDATA" file on your desktop, but thats not much to complain about. :) and in the options when you choose "paste" it doesn't involve pasting, it opens a window with a text field... should change option name to add.
