The publisher and homepage for this application are incorrect. TopStyle was aquired by Stefan van As in 2008 as noted here: http://nick.typepad.com/...12/ann-topstyle-ac.html

In theory the new website is http://www.topstyle4.com but I have tons of issues getting to it (may be a work proxy issue).

I haven't actually tried the latest version so I'm giving it an arbitrary rating of 4, feel free to ignore.

Combine the topstyle lite version(css) with PSPad(xhtml),Inkscape(vector graphics), and Gimp(raster graphics) -> you have a power combination for web development.

Topstyle was and still is (one of) the most powerfull CSS editor around. I have used this program for several years now and must say I never came across a better program for creating, managing and correcting stylesheets.

And the light html editor available since 3.? is a nice extra to the complete program. Now you don't need any other editor for creating your websites.

I think it is a wise decission to clean up Topstyle in this new version. All the backward compatibility options are kinda useless when you really want to use stylesheets. The only thing missing to my opinion is an alternative inline preview. IE is extremely out of date when it comes to checking and creating great stylesheets. I know there is a (very hard) way to get Gecko to run inside Topstyle, but I think this should be a default option. Or include the Opera runtime.

The best just got better! Nick has added (X)HTML capabilities so that TopStyle could edit in-line style blocks and styles in the of the HTML. This has meant that the program now doubles as an HTML editor! There are many other improvements as well.

It seems to be the best lightweight CSS editor for beginners. The inspection of the code is excellent, the commentaries, warnings and alerts are acurate and to the point.
As an HTML editor TopStyle is nothing special. It's the integration with CSS that makes it worth considering.
This beta is quite slow to work with. But it seems compleet.
As an inspection tool for sites it seems moderately adequate. But the whole "site" support is misleadingly unsupportive.

The best and only good tool for CSS. This is the only essential tool that I need to create a website, other then that I can use any editor... but TopStyle is crucial. Simply the best!!!

Stunning. Extremely simple to use but has a lot of complex and useful features. The more you use it, the more you discover. One of the most professional, well-thought out, well supported and enjoyable programs I have ever had the pleasure of using. It really could not be any better. (Well, not until version 3 of course..) If you ever come into contact with CSS at all, this is essential.

Definitely the best CSS editor on the market. The UI is excellent and someone new to CSS can get up and running in no time with the aid of the comprehensive help files that include a useful tutorial. The author is Nick Bradbury who first wrote the HomeSite HTML editor before Allaire and recently Macromedia took it over. I can't speak too highly of this program.
