Use to be a great program. Till it got bought out by PCCillin, then it just went down hill from there. Does what it says, fair program. IE crashed my PC cause of installation problems. When I went to restore my PC and put the old version on. It said I had to re-register. Well it kept kicking my pc offline. Real bother. Hog of resource, and unreliable. AVG Antispyware is a sure fire thing.

Sometimes you think that you know all. But it comes the moment that you understand your knowledge is insufficient. I used to believe that the best Antispyware is AVG AntiSpyware, after Ad-aware and SpyBot etc. The truth is that i install yesterday Trend Antispyware 3.5 and i was suprised from the fact that it find many items "unvisible" from other security products that i used.
Believe me i tried many many good products (Antivirus,Antispyware...). Right now i found the perfect combine for any machine: NOD32 2.7,Trend AntiSpyware 3.5 and AVG AntiSpyware 7.5.

The only real anti-spyware utility you need is COMMON SENSE. Dont install spyware. Learn to read. Make sure IE (if you use it) cannot autoinstall anything.
BTW...THIS PROGRAM IS BS. Trend buys it (spysubtract) and now I can upgrade my Spysubtract (which I bought bundled with adsubtract which was a sweet app in its day).

The problem with all anti-spyware is that they sometimes run wild and take out applications that are important to your system. This one saw my antivirus updater as spyware. It also took out my Stardock apps.

Good Product. Found several others missed ,even with a trial version's out of date definition list. The Venus Spy Trap seems to be compatible with everything else. No false readings.TrendMicro has a good reputation and standing. Not the only application to use, but is a good application to use with others.Yes, MS Beta is free-but just for a few months longer.

I have been working my own computer reappear & services many years, i know that Trend Micro is one of the best spyware removers out there, EVRY time if there is something what Lavasoft Ad-Aware or SpyBot cant remove - trend micro removes them white out any trouble & booting.
Someone complained about TrendMicro asks email for spam, this is total lie, it's just there as option, if You do not want to give email, write just ewkhwqur@qeuh.com there or whatever you want & Micro will accept it. Even if you use real email, they haven’t send anything to me yet.
So if you haven’t use these programs on many different computers, You really can not say do they remove something good or bad. Microsoft antivirus is Ok also.
Next good shareware what i would recommend is Webroot Spysweeper.

This product is ok (and not one promo email yet!) but it pales is comparison to Giant/Microsoft's Antispyware. And the MS product is free!

So you give a great product a 1 Rating because they asked for your email? Talk about judging a book by looking only at the cover. If you are so worried about email spam, stop being so lazy and create a junk mail account on one of the countless free webmail services and use it.

Well great.... "Trend Micro uses your email address to send occasional email of our latest software, specials, and tips. " (has to be fulled out in order to get started) ..
So now you can get spam instead of spyware .. No no, better freeware!! stuff out there !
