Just ran the most recent .96 beta of Virtual Woman. Let's just say it doesn't work as advertised. Virtual DNA files won't load. No obvious save game feature. Conversation locks up when you win. Game locks up after 5 wins. No feedback from the company on it's own forum website for beta testers. To make a long story short, don't waste your money on upgrading at this point in time.

Very, very bad AI. No point installing this crap.

BTW : yes you can undress her but you need to talk a lot to succeed... and because of the bad AI it is almost impossible...

I tried this on a whim several years ago, and uninstalled it after a couple of days. As others have said, the AI was poor and the graphics awful. The screenshot looks just as I remember it, so they don't seem to have improved it much. 0.94 beta to 0.95 beta in two years?

I installed it, poked it for a few minutes, laughed and uninstalled. I've seen better A.I:s on IRC. The whole concept here is pointless. Poor graphic and a bad A.I.

The concept of developing engaging A.I.'s is always an intriguing one. However, the execution in this instance falls far short of even the most feeble of expectations. When lamenting the state if humankind watch the typos Victor. Deteriorating ;)

Humph. I tried that "Weird Science" thing a long time ago. All I ended up doing was corrupting Windows and setting fire to a Victoria Secret catalog.

It seems to be a nice try though. Take my advice though, try to get out a little more often. I mean hey, I'm a geek like everyone else here. But I'd worry about dating your laptop on a Saturday night.

This piece of hard-disk-space-eating garbage is so bad that it didn't even work. The OCX's installed in the System32 subdirectory weren't installed correctly, and subsequently the latest update, which looks for the OCS'x, won't install because the OCX's needed weren't there.

DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME DOWNLOADING IT.

I spoke too soon before, sorry.

Today I just got an letter from CyberPunk Software, there mail server had problems sending attachments, and they sent me a link for there new beta programs, and I was sent a patch to change the program from demo to regular. Strange though there reply came from an aol account. Some many email address they have its confussing.

I Tested the now patched program on windows98 and Windows xp, it does let you see more but text is still slow and the sound is kinda lame, I wait tell the digital dna link is back up since its down. Overall I Give it a "4". This program is good for us messed up people who look hideous from accidents and cant get a girlfriend.

A very funny program which seems to combine a chatterbot and a 3d virtual avatar. Actually more amusing than my girlfriend who is annoying the heck out of me at the moment. Guys, do me a favor and never build a Virtual Mother-in Law. No installation probs for me but not all features are active, still in beta. couldn't build all ethnic types for example. Ran fine on my win 98 and XP machines. Like majestic12 (see other reviews) I also ordered a copy and got a registered version sent in email 2 me in about a half hour...also gave me access to their beta section for latest copies. I saw that their was a choice between shipping e-mail or postal mail maybe you chose postal instaed of email?

O... another Popper Stopper! Well, you should take my words for it when I talk about the "Mad Cow" stuff. Use IE, and you have to pay for these extra "artificial intelligence" to accompany that and stop the pop-ups? YOu call 2M "light on your system's resources"? Just for the Popper-Stopper? Add another 1M and guess what? A COMPLETE FUNCTIONAL BROWSER WITH THE ABILITY TO KILL POP-UPS! Take my words for it, go for Opera. We don't need these craps.

I'm not really reviewing this program at this time, I would just like to tell you that you need Microsoft® .NET Framework to run this program. It's a 20MB download you can get here:

I was saying BOO-URNS!

Very nice program indeed. Not all overcrowed with features just the stuff you need at a good download size. Very stable and works well. Highly recommend you try! :)
