Publisher's Description
Volume Snapshot is a consumer-level open file management tool. The software allows you to take an instant snapshot of your disk volumes. The snapshots can be used by backup applications to provide volume backups that do not suffer from the "skipped file" syndrome normally due to open files. A snapshot can also be mounted as a logical disk drive allowing the user to view files/directories in the state in which they existed at the time of the snapshot. An active snapshot requires very little disk space owing to StorageCraft's "Smart Snap" technology. It is exposed to the user as a shell extension to Microsoft Explorer.

The ways to use this product are endless. We update a website daily with stock market data. During updates, data is unavailable to users. Using VSNAP we operate the site from the snapshot drive, update the data on the real drive, and take a new snapshot. Reduces down time to near zero.

The install was painless and operations intuitive. It is a comfort to know there is a volume image available in the event of problems, and was an instantaneous event. I just process office stuff and don't want to know what is happening under the hood. This program serves me well.
