Publisher's Description

Wave Splitter is a freeware utility that allows you to extract a sample from a .wav file without loading it into memory. No matter how big your source wave file is (it could be hundreds of megabytes), if you want to sample a part of it, you can do it very quickly, without wasting RAM.

The fact of not using RAM for loading the wav file is an interesting feature because today most PCs run with only 64Mb and people recording direct-to-disk wav files may have to work with files over 650 MB. Explain me then how you can edit such a wav file if you only have 64 MB on your system ?

Ok first of all why would you want a program that does not run off of memory. Location on the motherboard and directly linked cache to the transistors on the processor, memory provides fast access. This program takes that advantage away. Have you ever heard of MP3's. Yeah they sound good.

I'm working as an engineer in a music studio and this is gonna save time to lots of people I know.
The layout is not nice though but it is doing well what it has to do.
Congratulations

I can finally extract 5 minutes from my 1-hour wav file of DJ mix without making Windows suffer. Thanxs Claudio!

Great program. I used it for a while and loved the way it looked and how fast it ran. Its only downfall is the fact that it pops up a little window each time it checks mail, which is extremely annoying if you check it every 5 minutes like I do. The other thing I missed was a small deskbar notification like Mail-It has, which lets you know if you have any new mail. Clicking on the workspace with my mail client to see if anything came in was something I quickly grew bored of. Alas, I am picky, but these little things really make or break a program. Postmaster is much cleaner looking and faster than Mail-It, however it is missing the little necessities we sometimes take for granted.
