If you have a legal copy why would one need a program like this? It just makes it easier for others to steal your key.

Yep, throwing my hat in with the recommendation to use MJB keyfinder instead.

It...sort of works. Might be promising, but in its current state it is no good.

Ehh. I did not like this program at all. The interface felt unpolished and disorganized. It grabbed my Windows XP SP3 key just fine, but everything else it failed at. I felt like the program was more of a collection of shortcuts to various parts of my computer.
I have much better luck with Magical Jelly Bean KeyFinder. Just my two cents.
