Publisher's Description

WinZip Self-Extractor is a utility program that creates native Windows self-extracting Zip files. These self-extracting Zip files are ideal for electronic file distribution because they: (1) can contain multiple compressed files, ensuring that important files do not become separated from the rest of the package; (2) allow the receiver to use a familiar Windows interface to decompress files, without owning or knowing how to use a separate unzip utility; and (3) optionally run a "setup" or "installation" program, which may be included by the developer when the files are decompressed.

WinZip at one time was uncrowned king of encrypted files. They successfully overtook inventor GZip and renamed encrypted files as 'ZIP' files.

Unfortunately they fail to see writhing on wall (similarly as Microsoft) and still live in world of monopoly. With such dream WinZip has just one thing in mind, suck users try to force things, but they fail to see future.

If they are wise they must change their attitude, give more credence to customers.

One area where they still are strong is 'Help Files'. WinRar has pathetic userunfriendly 'Help Files'

I still love WinZip but will not unless they give up monopolistic mind get more customer caring.

It is impertinent but i wish to mention Microsoft has sure downfall in future, let WinZip not have the same future.

SE died a long time ago with WinZip itself. The price alone is a joke. Alternatives are far better now.

I cannot BELIEVE that Winzip self extractor 2.2 has not been released as a final version yet? You know how long this thing has been in beta? Since about the middle of 1998, or earlier. It actually doesn't look much different than version 2.1, which is wayyyy older. A couple new featuers, but that's about it.
