Publisher's Description
Winshutdown will allow you to use F keys to either Shutdown, Restart, Reboot, or Logoff Windows. These F keys will work where ever you are in Windows. When using this software, always make sure that you close all open work after saving it and make sure that other large programs have been closed. It helps it to call the function for the F key you have pressed a lot quicker.

I did download and install this app as it's not right to review without using a beta. The logic for creating this app escapes me though if ya try I am sure theres a reason somewhere. But having said that I can count a number of ways to start a shutdown and as another user stated the risk of an accidential triggering is much greater using a single button (My cat could shut me down with a poorly aimed hop) The app installed and ran as claimed so it does work but I would really have to have a need to put it on my pc on a long term basis. 4 stars for error free install/use

I already hate keyboards which have a "power off" key. It's so easy to press it by mistake, or if anything falls down on your keyboard... It's unbearable when this thing happened especially if you are compiling some codes or playing a game... But I still prefer a keyboard with this special key (made for it) instead of using an extra application.

I think it might be a bad idea to assign a function key to this program. The function keys have different uses depending on the program you are running, and pretty much all programs do use them for one thing or another. The F1 key for example is almost universally used to call up the help menu for the active program. Suppose you are working with a program and hit the function key only to have your system shut down or reboot? That wouldn't be good obviously. It would be much better to have a key combination where you have to hit three keys at once for example. I'm never in such a hurry to shut down anyway; it only takes three clicks after all. I don't really see a need for it, plus it is already possible to create a shortcut to shut down the system. Now the scheduling part, that could be quite useful.

It would be useful if one could assign other keys, such as the pause/break key. Some programs use the function keys and it could cause a problem if the computer tries to shut down when one is using it. Using Ctrl, Alt and Shift with pause/break would allow all four functions to be assigned to that one key.
