Not worth $10 let-a-lone $30.
No matter how "COOL" it looks, it truly is pointless in a real life environment.

To quote from the review on my web site :
Another superb product from the Winstep guys. Inspired by the 'Shelf' from the unreleased beta of Openstep 4, WorkShelf is a powerful, multi-paged desktop replacement and task organizer that can be used as an alternative or supplement to the normal Windows desktop. This app is still in beta stages, but is incredibly stable and has been a permanent part of my desktop for some time now. There's a lot more functionality coming as further modules are being added all the time (a full-blown NeXT-style dock add-on is due soon). I really can't recommend this company's software enough - if it hadn't been for these guys, I would have abandoned ship and gone back to the Mac long ago... Winstep software makes Windows bearable :-)

skbonnet, WS 0.55 *is* indeed a beta, as the version number clearly states - the very first public beta, in fact. Unfortunately I didn't see any message at support@winstep.net from you - or anyone else, for that matter - reporting this type of problem. We at Winstep, as our track record with NextSTART clearly proves, go out of our way to fix bugs as soon as they are reported to us... but we have to know what the problem is in the first place, and for that the user must work with us - it is in your own interest too, after all. What you are reporting here, with the lack of detail provided and without any similar reports from other users, could very well be a problem specific to your system alone... or a simple case of re-installing the VB5 runtimes.

Excellent launcher utility. I've used it since the very first alpha and it's become a necessity on my desktop. Along with NextStart the Winstep software is a must have suite if you ask me. ;-) No bugs for me on Win2k pro.
