This software is a joke because of its subscription model. They claim to provide a service because the news feeds need parsing, and that may have had some truth to it when this product was introduced in the prior century, but these days every site worth using has an RSS feed.
Alternatives such as Guru News Ticker and RSScrawler do not make use of the idiotic--and greedy--subscription model.

I tried them all, and WorldFlash is the only news ticker application I could stand. I am running it as a flat, 2-tier ticker, white text on a black background, on a black desktop. It blends right in unobtrusively, and works great. WorldFlash support is very responsive, not that you'll need it. Do note that when you buy WorldFlash, you're not just paying for software, you're paying for a service (ticker and news source updates, and so forth). So you will have to renew every two years (a 20% discount is offered).
