Very nice!

I like:
- the tabs
- intuitive to use for a Firefox user
- it doesn't store preferences in the registry but in a file in it's own directory (ideal for my USB memory stick)
- file splitter/joiner [just need to actually implement it now! ;) ]

don't like:
- tabs don't close in displayed order, when pressing CTRL+F4
- no right-click menu options on the tabs
- whole app freezes when polling network information in one of the tabs
- blue/classic themes are wrongly labelled
- unable to open Windows shortcuts
- keep getting some "not a valid integer value" error when clicking on files larger than 1MB.

Shows great promise, but needs loads of work done on before I would consider it useable - hence a neutral rating.

Buggy right now, but hey, it's alpha! Gets an integer error on a file named "FSViewer2.27 b3.exe"

Nice though. I like the single file program (portable). I REALLY like the future implementation of thumbnails. :)

i've never bothered with a file manager before but have now tried this one, plus those mentioned below.. i like them all.. this one is completely freeware though, so it gets my vote at the moment, since i use stuff like this more at work than at home..

Overall, not bad. Still a bit buggy, but that goes with the territory at BetaNews, so I accept that. Xplorer: confusing name, though. At first I thought it was an update for Xplorer2 Lite, the freeware excellent file manager. Now, Xplorer2 Lite beats the pants of this one.

AFAIK Firefox is not a Windows Explorer substitute, but an Internet Explorer replacement instead. They are different products.

It's got problems, but it shows promise. Small and fast like a file browser should be.

rkmoray, there is a paste function, you just need to copy something first and then it will appear in the menu.

Very nice. small, fast. I enjoy using. 2 issues I have found to date.

1)right click does not has a paste function

2) I cannot access my pocketpc with this explorer. I get an out of memory error.

Not a bad application for a free bit of software.
Yes, there is does appear to be a problem with the site bouning back to the main provider home page.

No trojan here.

Maybe the EXE compression used (WinUPack), causes the false positive. The downloads have been updated in order to apply a patch for the EXE compressor to avoid the false positive in the buggy McAfee AV engine.

BTW, to add more confussion, there is also ExplorerXP!

As far as the chronology, both projects born at the same time, exactly 2004/06/10. Anyway, the father of xplorer2, 2xExplorer was first.

Are you sure your AV didn't report a false positive? I scanned it w/ Vet, Nod32, Innoculan and Kaspersky. No baddies found. All updated defs. Program loads into an explorer replacement like it says it is. If there was something there, it's gone now... Anyway, it seems to really offer nothing much that windows explorer already does, and in a pretty buggy, error-prone way.
