Far, far to many updates, why not release a new version fortnightly instead of every few days, it's a good program but who wants to be updating it twice a week or more. Also upsets my anti-virus program with so many changes - Just my opinion...

I've used Xleaner now for a fair amount of time & it has never caused me any issues, I also run it on the other PC's I sort, well worth having on any system. Small size, no crap-ware & updated regularly, the main site has also had an update ~ Good free software ~

This software works well and seems to remove most obvious traces of my online activities and recent files etc... Although I'm not an expert in the windows registry, so I can't be 100% sure... It does seem to do a good job though. I use Ccleaner along with it... It's probably unnecessary to use both though.

@ Jakhals - I don't know what language you speak but mine is Anglo & if you spent more than two minutes evaluating this program you would find it's simple to use with English.

This is free software & it's just come out of Beta & it's very good, maybe not as polished as CCleaner (yet) for example but if you used the first version of that program as I did it was not perfect in the beginning either.

Debugging any program takes time & constructive criticism not comments such as yours.

I think maybe any 'Beta' testing site is not for you - I hope you never have to use an open source operating system with your attitude.

And as some parts of the 'Xleaner' site are in German you need to realise there are other languages in this world apart from English - It does not take a person with two brains to navigate a partly German site.

And it 'sense' not 'senses' if you really want to be pedantic about language.

A worthy 5 stars.

No problems now - Interface sorted as & is good as CCleaner & no problems if used in conjunction with.

The download page is not good there is a silly time out that can confuse new users into wondering where the download is.

Registering will remove the time out & also gets an enhanced version - Registering is free, there is no ad-ware bundled with this unlike 'some' CCleaner downloads.

The download on BetaNews seems to point to the portable version there is however a multilingual installer on the main site if you use the update function in 'Help' this points to the installer.

I don't have a problem with the interface - it's getting to be a very good cleaner, along with CCleaner one of the best, free or pay.

You can change the colour from orange quite easily if it bothers you that much.

I use CCleaner with the Winapp2 which I download manually, while excellent for an advanced user it can create real problems esp with some of the .net framework cleaners etc. added recently.

I have installed Xleaner on other PCs I look after & for these people this is far safer. I also find that Xleaner does find & remove some junk from browsers that elude CCleaner.

I'm not knocking CCleaner as it is a great program but so is Xleaner used with or alone on less PC savvy users PCs.

As I said earlier it does take a few minutes to setup but once you have done it easy the next time.

The download page is plain stupid though & I would think many give up trying as you are required to jump through hoops to finally get to the file download.

One thing though there it does not try to install crap unlike CCleaner. Overall I think as good as CCleaner & for some I think better.

Of course you may disagree & that's fine but I like it.

Nice program that complements CCleaner. Worth having on any system. Takes a while to setup with a slightly cluttered interface.

[Edit] Having used version 4.x for a few days once you have spent time setting the program up it works very well indeed. The edjits who have given it one star obviously lack the required intelligence level to do this - Though all it requires just a little time & patience.

Brilliant, & it it is now my default cleaner. Expect to see more using this software.

I like this app. I actually cleans user temp folders, which crap cleaner doesn't seem to be able to do even if you add the paths to those folder in the option Crap Cleaner dialog. Relatively small file size of Xleaner doesn't hurt either. Only drawback that I see is that the .ini configuration file isn't annotated.

I tried and for the life of me can't change the theme even after reading the instructions 5 times over. There is NO right corner click to enable looks in the About AT ALL. They have like ten themes but there seems to be no way to actually use them. The default theme is fugly as hell.
-1 for really crappy instructions on something which should be only too easy.

It's not to best looking of cleaners, although you can change the colour of it. But IMHO it's knocked CCleaner of the free top spot & is now my default cleaner. I don't understand people who still pay out £'s for cleaners.

I was skeptical after using CCleaner for so long but this program is as good or (Dare I say it?) better than CCleaner. It's a German home page with the UK flag to right hand for English. Excellent.

Similar to ccleaner and it's xtra plugins functionality though this is very customizable and you can add special folders, files, or registry entries, and can be set to run and exit with a single command.
Has update function as well. At least it's in english unlike xp antispy-lol
