Publisher's Description
ZSNES is a Super Nintendo emulator programmed by zsKnight and _Demo_. On April 2, 2001 the ZSNES project was GPL'ed and its source released to the public. It currently runs on Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, and DOS. Remember that this is a public beta so don't expect this to run on your machine.

Tried only Super Mario Kart and it didn't even work as it should. CRAP.

I've always been a fan of ZSNES over any other SNES emu, having used the original Snes9x even (I still remember the green GUI), but frankly the new kids that took over the project aren't of the same caliber as the original programmers. Never in my experience has ZSNES been so buggy. Games like Super Mario Kart, Pilot Wings and SMW2: Yoshi's Island, all games that used to work perfectly, now have problems. SMK runs like crap, PW has crackling noises during the sky diving stages and SMW2's 1-7 level has a jittery background. Just a few things I've noticed several builds ago. I'm sure there's more. Despite posts in their forum about these issues, none have been addressed yet. I know no software is perfect, especially emulators. But one of the key points of emulation is taking steps forward, not back. Hopefully the new guys will get things worked out. It's still my favorite SNES emu, but -1 for the step backward.

FINALLY! Fixed the bugs I wanted them to fix like two years ago! Now I can finally leave Snex9x in the dust and go ZSNES!
Question: Anyone tested this with Vista yet, just out of curiosity?

I put off using this for many years because I hate the GUI, I mean I really hate it. I used snes9x instead. While that is still a good emulator, this one has the edge as far as compatibility and speed. I still don't like the gui but you probably can't find a better snes emulator for Windows.

The best emulator for Snes!! God I love this program.
And yes, they have removed support for internet play but it WILL be back!

The most compatible and feature-rich Snes emulator available. For those who wish to use the very latest builds (and don't compile from CVS), You can download Work in Progress (WIP) binaries from:

Version 1.42 fixed the graphics problem I was having on my XP machine with version 1.36 (it worked fine on Win98). It plays perfectly, but I would prefer it if the GUI was a little more like VisualBoyAdvance.

A wonderful emulator, perfected over the years with some nice touches. Better than Snes9X IMO.

While it could use a GUI makeover, this application performs the tasks it was meant to with flying colors. Unless you're extremely picky about the interface, I would recommend this to anyone.
