AttenzoSMS allows you to send sms to any mobile number and supports more than 200 countries. You can send an sms using your own name or number as "sender id". attenzoSMS also enables you to send content from various sources, like the latest status updates and pictures of your social networks's friends (Twitter and Facebook).

It's freeware BUT, you have to buy credits to send SMS messages - not cheap - especially since the receipient probably has to pay to receive it as well. There are other ways to send SMS messages that don't require this, In addition the interface is really overblown. Looks flashy, but is cumbersome.
