Publisher's Description
burst! is a new client for the BitTorrent network. It uses a modified version of the original python client as the back-end, and replaces the front-end with a native Win32 application. It uses less system resources (with multiple transfers), and has more features then the other clients.

and the oldschool client marches on ... all of the other ones were horrible and had far too many bugs .
this and bitspirit were the only ones worth downloading . i dont care for all of the bloat and functions bitspirit has , though . this is straight to the point and works . thats all i needed ..

This new version is really nice, but I personally think there are better alternatives like the Java-based Azureus.

Would like more of a GUI, but It it's pretty good all the same. This version has been out for a while BTW.

DOES the job! Isn't bloated, is simple and don't crash that often like others do.

Pretty decent, I still prefer Azureus with it's better interface (along with resource management), as well as seemed to fix my stalling problem that the regular client, experimental, and PTC wouldn't fix. burst probably needs a couple more features to make it stand apart from the others.

You misunderstand .. It is meant that you can now set upload to below 10k/sec while seeding (that limit still applies while leeching), so that you can share more files.

"Removed all upload limits when seeding"
I guess I won't be upgrading, otherwise I wouldn't be able to seed. It's nice to be able to browse the web while donating bandwidth to the network.

This is the only BitTorrent client I would consider using right now. The original doesn't allow upload limiting so my d/ls are much slower, experimental leaks memory on my comp, but burst! works great and eliminates the need to use TorrentSpy in conjunction with another client.

I think that the burst! client is much better than some of the other clients about, especially just the plain official one. It's worked with every BT file i've downloaded, and Kudos to the author to getting a nice win32 client that does the job properly. Can't wait for version 2.x

To clarify: The 1.x series of bursts (which this is) is simply a GUI wrapper around a modified python btdownloadheadless client .. hence the DOS windows. I wrote it becuase the GUI clients were memory hungry pigs, and required you to start a new instance for every file.
Most of the bugs (like hanging, randomly, on some torrents, on some systems, which I can't reproduce here! If you're hitting this bug, please e-mail me so I can track it down) are actually due to these stupid downloader windows!
The downloader windows will be gone in 2.x, which is a complete Win32 re-write and currently in alpha (a seeder-only preview should be out within a few weeks, keep your eyes peeled)...

just sat there saying (Not Responding) in the title bar for about 5 minutes on a few BT files. I uninstalled this and went back to the staandard clent and ALL the files I tried with this worked with the standard BT Client.

Have we really not moved past DOS windows? You're telling me you couldn't window(ize) the transfer windows. Yes, I know it is more geeky to have a black window of data, but come on.. Shake the cool look.
