Publisher's Description
mpTrim is a simple and easy to use MP3 editor. Its main advantage is that it works directly in the MP3 format without having to decode/re-encode, so it is very fast and doesn't degrade the music quality. It can trim the parts that you want to discard. It can adjust the volume - either manually or automatically - for example, to amplify those pesky MP3s that were encoded too low. It can fade-in/out abrupt beginning/ending. It can clean up your MP3s and recover wasted disk space.

Crock of crap. As previous reviewer says, this isn't freeware. It's limited, you can't load large MP3s into it. Like anyone's going to pay for this.

Great little program. No need to install - just runs from the .exe (why can't more programs be like this?). Wanted a simple tool to change volume on an MP3 and this could not have been easier. Just Open, move volume slider, Save. That's it. NO messing around. Brilliant.

Thanks to the author. This is a handy piece of software to have. Great for simple trimming chores.
Still, would like to point out its Freeware status is not 100% true: it only reads up to 7 minutes of music.

Great piece of software!
Geesh I can't imagine why it won't run under Win95, after all that's only a 12 year old OS!

The program does not work in Windows 95? Well, it looks like Windows 95 tho... Anyway, nice program!

Versions after 2.00 dumped the compatibility with Windows 95. Unfortunately the author is unwilling to spend few hours to fix the issue. It's a pity, it was my favorite application.

Absolutely fantastic ! It does exactly what it is supposed to do - no more, no less - and it's FREE ! THANK YOU ! ! My only suggestion is that you move the settings into an INI file so this app may be run as portable...

While I do appreciate the effort and the free factor, I too agree that it would be very helpful if the author would work towards building in a "wave-type" editor where you can play the clip, find and select the chunks visually and edit them out.
I think it is easier that way and also is something that is very familiar with most people.
I would respectfully encourage the author to consider this. Thanks.

Great program. But it's shareware!

Well, MP3DirectCut shows the wave so it's easy to spot what you want to cut, but this one was good long ago. It wasn't free before IIRC.
Anyway, I prefer other software.

works excellent, just choose the time you want to start at and end at and the amount of fading you want and press SAVE. or the program can choose the points automatically depending on volume. very good tool, i strongly recommend it.

Thanks for the FREEWARE ! I work private with MP3 files and now I can "fade out" my sounds, they are cut at the end.

Brilliant. I'vw been using mp3Trim for a very long time and have never once been disappointed with the results. Keep up the good work
user101 reviewed v1.80 Beta 1 on Aug 7, 2002
Does what it's designed to do, and does it well. The odd time (probably once out of every 1000 times) it gets stuck and can't open a file saying that it's not an MP3, even though it is. A shame though about the PRO version... $$$

I felt it should have been more Xp Icons, but besides that it looked nice any person who loves to change their icons that this is the software for you!

Awesome program! Too bad it costs so much to support larger sized files but for the average length song at 160 or 190kbs, it works on most all of them.
animespy reviewed v1.78a on Feb 18, 2002
I love this program! It's one of the best to have around if you have lots of MP3s, plus it's small, fast, and you don't even have to go through an installer to set it up. Good job. Also, try their other program, WavTrim.

mp3Trim is a great freeware program. It's fast and gets the job done. However, it doesn't support large files ( i.e. greater than 7 minutes), unless you upgrade to mp3Trim Pro... for $80... Ouch!
a_fire_inside reviewed v1.78 Beta 1 on Jan 4, 2002
This program is listed as freeware but when I try to load a large mp3 with alot of silence that I wanted to cut it says that the file is 129% bigger than it can handle and I should consider buying the mp3TrimPRO version. Why does everyone want you to pay money for a stupid utility that you will only use every once in a while? Crap in my opinion. I could just load VCPP up and make one if I wanted.
ditoa reviewed v1.78 Beta 1 on Jan 4, 2002
acts kinda strange on winxp, but on win98 and win2k it is very good, does what it is ment to do. simple, quick and now with mp3pro support it is tops! will be a 5 when it works as good on xp
