I was an SPSS user for twenty years before using statistiXL. statistiXL was started by two guys who got tired of paying enormous sums to the folks at SAS and SPSS for the ever-decreasing functionality of their modules. Instead, they use Microsoft Excel as the base for their datasheet and charting engine and by focusing on the statistics, statistiXL is an incredible value.
