But I did notice that in the "advanced" level toolbox the "secure shredder" has gone. I feel that's a shame because I did like that little tool and used it quite a lot.

Stay away, this has the Curse of Micro$haft on it.
After installation I can't access my documents and the resolution in MicroSnot kb articles only refers to modifying registry keys which don't even exist in WinXP.
