Sunbird and Rainlendar complement each other IMHO. I use both since they both work with .ics files. Rainlendar is always on for the unobtrusive desktop reminder while I open Sunbird when I need to see a larger view (week, month) for planning...

Great calendar that allows to open and layer multiple proprietary and .ics calendars (iCal).
.ics calendars can be synced to PPC via tcpip with Finchsync.

Nice calendar application.
Featurewise I do miss though the very useful ability to open and layer multiple calendars (such as work, personal, Bdays, etc...); free Sunbird can do this.

Great,fast and smooth running program.
Captions and tags(keywords) get written to jpeg IPTC metadata which is great shall you want to import your photos and tags into a different software.
If you shoot RAW+JPEG it can be configured to show JPEGs...
