Publisher's Description

ASUS SmartDoctor is designed to satisfy two major goals. One is to monitor graphic chip Status, altering users about abnormal events, such as fan malfunction or chip overheat. The other, as the name SmartDoctor implies, is to cool down the graphic chip smartly when it is not necessary for it to be kept running at full speed. It includes AGP Power Level Monitoring, Fan RPM Monitoring, Overheated protection, Smartcooling technology, and Manual Overclocking.

What is the point of this program? All nVidia 6000 and 7000 series discrete graphics cards have a thermal sensor that is part of the GPU. The stock nVidia Forceware 80 and 90 series drivers monitor the thermal sensor on the graphics card and slow the fan down as needed.

Wow. Reading is difficult for some people. It clearly states in the SECOND sentence: "...to monitor graphic chip Status, alerting users about abnormal events, such as fan malfunction or chip overheat."
What part of GRAPHICS CHIP can't be understood?

This program delivers exactly what is intended, although I think that the devs should include 2D/3D modes for X1000 series cards,(because of their different clock speeds/voltages) as well as integrated voltage adjustments for overclocking.

I find it hard to believe that people would take the time to dl a file to test without even reading the TITLE, or other's experiences, but I see it EVERY DAY here at BetaNews...unbelievable!

You guys are a bit ****ed up... It's not to monitor your Asus MotherBoard, it's to monitor your Asus GRAPHIC CARD. If you dont have an Asus GRAPHIC CARD dont bother, chances are (if your not using an 9600XT or 9800XT or X800) you dont even have a temp sensor on your graphic card...

Peltec & Weblyvickers -

Asus is primarily a motherboard manufacturer, and the software is meant to monitor your processor and motherboard. If you buy an Asus motherboard, this is the software you get with it.

If you guys don't have the hardware, I'm not sure why you'd even want to use it in the first place. How about you two research what you're downloading next time before complaining that it doesn't do something it's not meant to do, ok?
