Publisher's Description
BIOS Patcher can find and fix errors in your system BIOS (only AWARD BIOS for now) and also it can add or open new features, i.e. some features that your BIOS has but they are closed by manufacturer of your motherboard. It scans rom file. If it finds any known errors it fixes the errors. If it finds any closed features it opens it.

I agree with improvelence on this. If you know what your doing good to go. But get someone who doesn't all it takes is "bye bye".. Gotta always always always take extra care fooling when it comes to flashing the bios.

With Abit's (my mobo) flashmenu133 program this works great. I actually had a newer bios/bin file on abit's site than the 2004 version I was using and used bp to mod it and then flashmenu to flash it. Just had to update my personal settings manually as flashmenu automatically resets bios to default. Running sp3 v3311 in turbo mode. hope it's stabile.
This soft as well as abit's has failsafe and backup capabilities. No problems nor hesitation here (wooses).

I question how safe something like this is. Steer clear of this unless you know what you are doing. I would recommend investing in a BIOS savior if you wanna play around with 3rd party BIOS tools.

I thing that it is very useful program. This is best solution of many problems: to install large disk on old PC, to install new CPU (Tualatin) on old PC, etc.. If you have a problem, you always can find good advice on phorum www.rom.by

For a program that wants people to change their BIOS the documentation has to be more than just understandable. If extra programs are needed the program should say so and not just give a criptic numeretical error message. Hence it's underdeveloped.

Ok, the reason you get an error is because you need this program ALONG WITH 3 others to work - cbrom.exe, lah.exe, and reall.cod - all available on the author's webpage. This is explained in the readme file included with this program. The "About_BP.TXT" file included is perfectly understandable and explains what the program does. Worked fine on my AWARD bios, and gives you text ouput that tells you what the program is doing/changing as it's working. This program is not underdeveloped, you just have to follow the instructions.
