Publisher's Description
BulletProof FTP can download files in any order from any directory on an FTP site, automatically reconnect and resume from where it left off if the connection is lost or no data is received for a specified period of time, browse the FTP site from the cache while offline or transferring, and even list hidden files. Leech mode allows you to quickly download files from servers that have a specified time limit for downloading. It can disconnect, reconnect, and keep downloading automatically when your download credit runs out. If you set it to monitor the clipboard, it can instantly connect in the background to a URL you copy and start transferring files. You can queue files on more than one site for download. It also offers proxy/firewall support, HTTP downloading with support for redirected URLs, local file listing with rename, delete, make directory support, imported site listings from CuteFTP, WS_FTP, and FTP Explorer, vRemote mirroring, and a Windows9x style file finding ability.

"free upgrades forever" was the deal when I bought my copy way back in 1999 (check the Internet Archive if you don't believe me). Now they've renigged on the deal. The company is now owned by a bunch of scammers - stay clear.

Not a good experience. I entered my FTP site's host name, and my ID and password. It connected successfully, and logged in successfully, even showing the FTP server's welcome message. Then... It displayed an error saying the host wasn't found. After it was already logged in! The same host works fine in every other FTP client I use. Pfffft!

I'm not sure what the previous guy is talking about, the software never fails to function and after it's purchase; it will work forever. Mine has been running for over 9 years!
I'm always getting update notifications of new versions:

BTW: I think you're talking about BPFTP Server, not BPFTP Client. And BPFTP Server has a Portable Edition now for USB drives as well.

Hey mcolgin, I actually bought a license for this a few years ago. Then one day you decided that paid users should buy a new license...for what? Nothing here that's worth shelling out money for the program again. I use FileZilla now and can take it anywhere on my USB drive too. Seems your company took over G6 FTP (anyone remember how awesome that was?), now that project seems dead and retains bugs for years now that never got fixed. Way to go! Let me just get out my wallet....NOT. I'm not bashing shareware, some developers really deserve the money. The sad thing is though, that from my experience, many freeware/open source developers offer far better support.

I still think CuteFTP is just about the best but this is a decent offering.

This interface is a joke, it is not intuitive at all and I wouldn't waste another 2 minutes of my life downloading and installing this worthless application. The authors should be ashamed of themselves.

mcolgin, dunno if your one of the develpoers or not, but in any case, what do you mean with "get a job done"? FileZilla does the job very well. My favorite is still UltraFXP tho.
Still I give this a 5 because it sure "get a job done", and I had no problems with it. But still, those free alternatives i mention works great too.

Hey FTP Users!
Based out of Seattle, WA; I'm the developer of BP FTP Server/Client and Go!Zilla and have been writing the code now for close to 10 years.
Undoubtedly, I give it 5 stars! You have to give a rating if you make a comment, what was I going to do? Give it a lower rating? Wonder what the "comic book guy" from Simpson's would say? Perhaps "Dumbest rant ever".
I'm based out of Seattle, WA and if you haven't gotten yet; I'm an Indie Software developer and 100% owner of the product and company. Even though it's a very small operation, I've got some of the best support people working on support via IM and Email every business day of the year!
Because my livelihood depends on making great software, the quality of BPFTP just can't be rivaled!
BPFTP Client is $29.95 USD and BPFTP Server is $34.95 USD and come with 1 free year of technical support. Check it out, a free trial is available:

I used to use BPFTP, and it's an awesome FTP program, but Filezilla is free and has all of the functionality that I need. I agree that it stole a lot of the features and UI from BPFTP, but the fact that I don't have to pay for it makes up for that :P

AlphaBetaGamma: yeah, I had a similar problem with the last major BPFTP release (which should have been stable because it was around for a long time with no new versions coming out).
BPFTP would not change out of a directory on the server before trying to execute a delete command. The result was that the server would think that the directory was still in use because the client was in it. I would have to manually change directories on the server (refresh in the parent folder) before having it try to delete the folder. That worked.
I bought this app back when it used to be the best. Then they added some useless crap (they bundled the server with the ftp client install that was a 30-day trial) and broke features. I tried sending emails to get bugs fixed and got no real response. I finally just gave up on this and moved to another ftp client. I think it was smartftp. It was free and worked well. More than I can say for BPFTP.

I'm really looking forward to the Version 3 mentioned on the BPFTP site.
If the V3 Pro upgrade is reasonably priced, this may be a killer app. I've had to purchase WS_FTP Pro to get the sftp capability I need, and while many of it's features are similar to the new features proposed for V3 of BPFTP, I don't at all care for the authorization model of WS_FTP.
I'll be looking carefully at this as the new release develops. The ssh terminal client is a nice plus. Will this support tabs as well?

Hey all, I'm the developer of BulletProof FTP Client and I'm really glad to see you guys pickup the (cough, cough) BETA. Honestly, I released v2.53 as a development preview and haven't done a lot of testing or allowing much customization of the User Interface. But don't worry, this stuff is coming; as well as a devbeta of BulletProof FTP Server v2.4x.
BulletProof FTP Client/Server has been around since the 90's and has grown to be the most well-known FTP software on the internet! So you can imagine who's doing the knock-offs. :P What's that phrase, "Imitation is the Highest Form of Compliment!".
Thanks for sticking with BulletProof FTP Client/Server and helping to make it the #1 FTP Software!
*** UPDATE: 10/11/2006. I just released v2.54. Oh and BTW, BPFTP Client has been out since 1997 and FileZilla v1 was release (2001-06-22 11:14). Be your own judge, but I've always thought it's UI and feature list certainly "leveraged" BPFTP Client.

I have used BPFTP for years. But in this version I could not delete a file on the remote server. Also, the interface remains as un-intuitive as ever, even if the icons are new. I have gone to FileZilla. It works great for my needs.
