AlphaBetaGamma: yeah, I had a similar problem with the last major BPFTP release (which should have been stable because it was around for a long time with no new versions coming out).
BPFTP would not change out of a directory on the server...

I have some rss feed software set up to download .torrent files my favorite releases into a folder that utorrent monitors and adds to the que when something new is released.

I used this software a long time ago. It is ok but it choked on some larger sites I attemped to download. Nothing out there compares to the power and flexibility of wget which is totally free and open source. Wget has never failed on me.
