Joco, you'll be surprised but there are a lot of applications that use such file format. And they don't need to be changed to an expensive solution with SQL server.

Sorry guys, please wake up. "Brainless" DB format like DBF is completely obsolete nowaday. It couldn't stand the competition of SQL databases and these are some free offers. Trust me, if you have to maintain a legacy xBase application, you'll be surprised that by rewritting it using modern languages & DB technologies, you will have a better performance with a lower cost.
