Joco, you'll be surprised but there are a lot of applications that use such file format. And they don't need to be changed to an expensive solution with SQL server.

Hmm, looks like you never have really damaged dbf files. SET TABLEVALIDATE fixes only small problems with header and does not have repair functionality.

There is many other reasons why others don't want use VFP. What's if someone just needed view/edit dbf files and don't want to fill he's head with programming? He will use our program for sure. Anyway nothing against of using VFP. Someone wants...

Many people still using programs which uses dbf files. Usually such programs don't have a good tool for managing database files. They don't need install any SQL server cause it's a small task for such servers.
