Publisher's Description
DVD43 is a free DVD decrypter that runs in the background and decrypts DVDs on the fly. It will decrypt (unlock) a movie DVD so that your copy program can read it. It is a pure decrypter, it does not alter the image of the original DVD and will not remove copy protection (other than CSS encryption) added to the DVD. If the DVD structure is non standard or the DVD contains bad sectors, your copy program needs to take care of that.

DVD43 is designed to decrypt DVD encryption, allowing users to bypass copy protection and access DVD content. It runs in the background and works with third-party software to enable DVD copying or ripping. However, DVD43 has been discontinued and may not work on newer operating systems. vist Yasir252 for more information.

It is much easier for DRM to be relatively impervious in 64-bit Windows. DVD43 came up with this stopgap method buy I believe DirectShow now operates as a kernel mode API and so video cannot be sampled off a DVD like original DVD43 did so well.
Anyhow, here's their link to the best effort: http://www.free-codecs.c...?d=5753&s=136&r= . This is DVD43 v1.0.0.5 and it's old. Make sure you are burning with "burnproof" and/or "simulate mode" on first, or just do a dry run before each title with a DVD-RW.

DVD43 is great, except for some new movies and Disney movies.
When all else fails, try 'Handbreak' it's free, and will rip a movie at it's very core. It will do it to a file, make sure it's a MP4, then use Nero Vision or DVD Flick(free) to burn to DVD.
I've used this method to backup some of my daughters Disney movies, which normally will not be copied by anything.

I have been using DVD43 for many years now. And I found a way enabling you not to make anymore dvd coasters!!! (failed copies)
After you copy the movie, and BEFORE you load the blank dvd...click on DVD43 and EXIT it BEFORE putting in your blank dvd!!!! DVD43 doesn't need to check a blank DVD, so disable it, and you shouldn't have any more problems. I have been doing this for months now and no more coasters.

I had mostly no problems with most DVDs except for Casino Royale, could not ever break the decryption and errored out each time. If someone can look at this and respond I'd like to hear the outcome.. But for 90+% of DVDs Ihad success.. It'd be nice to see why the newer DVD had issues.. Will this be something that will affect all DVDs from this point forward..

I just recently started using dvd43. Its been working good for me untill now. I've been trying to make backup copies for 2 new movies & its tellin me that it can't read file. Even if the little face is green. I've been trying all day. I wasted 3 blanks. I read somewhere on a review that it doesn't work on sony or pairamont movies. That's bull! What dicrypter might work better?

Pros: Works automatically with compatible DVD ripping software.
Minimal system resource usage.
Cons: No updates, making it obsolete for newer DVDs and operating systems.
Only works on older versions of Windows (Windows 7 and earlier).
Bottom Line: DVD43 is designed to decrypt DVD encryption, allowing users to bypass copy protection and access DVD content. It runs in the background and works with third-party software to enable DVD copying or ripping. However, DVD43 has been discontinued and may not work on newer operating systems. vist Yasir252 for more information.
