Jdennis is a prick who scammed people into buying this then never updated again. If you bought the first version the d*** even tried to charge for the last one he released. This is useless anymore and it will never be able to achieve what freeware has.

was good. but they stopped making this at version 4.5 that only went up to aim 5.5. this is now a useless turd. aim triton sucks too, use aim adhack with aim 5.9 and that about the best you can get for free

DeadAIM is a Very good Program in Fact There is no Better It's Just too bad that I have to Pay to upgrade it I like the Tabbed IM Windows Transparency Cloning and Especially the MSN like Notifications like I said There is no better Program than DeadAIM AIM+ can lick my nuts and Kiss my rear end cause it isn't compatible with 5.x

This is the best program ever. I found out a while ago that dead aim has a log mangaer which saves every IM you do! You just double click on a screen name and right click on the tab and click on the screen name where you want to see the IM's! It's way better than AIM+. AIM+ sucks balls!!!

Deadaim 3.2.1 is excellent. I have two questions. First, is Deadaim 4 an improvement? And second, does 3.2.1 or 4.0 block the ads for the latest AIM beta, which was released by AOL a couple of days ago? In the past, AIM has had a habit of breaking these anti-ad programs with their new versions, and I wonder if that's the case with the latest AIM beta.

hm -- jdennis.net just realeased version 4: priced at $4.99. What worries me is that betanews hasn't posted it here to download for free? ;-)

You now have to pay for DeadAIM, I mean come on what is the point anymore. Also try a grammer check or something last time I check "DA" wasn't a word.

I downloaded this, installed it, and ran it. When it got to the sign in screen, it crashed. Get AIM+ instead!

This listing is super old. Current version is 4.5, which while not compatible with the 5.9 AOL IM yet is a solid and handy utility for AIM users.

asc8duke

This program is great...incorporates all the features that AIM should have but doesn't...I love the transparency, I just wish it had an "always on top" feature for chat windows to make the transparency a little bit more useful...either way, this is the best AIM modifier out there.

improvelence

improvelence reviewed v3.1 on Jan 12, 2003

Good program if you use aim. my little sister likes it. You wont see this on too many copies of aim though because of the type of people that use aim (mainly young girls who dont know anything about ad removal)

cdaledave

cdaledave reviewed v3.1 on Jan 11, 2003

Works great. Only one request - an option to remove the buddy list tabs from the main window. AIM+ can do it, and it makes the window a bit smaller.

this program is aweomse, ive been using it since version 2x and it just keeps getting better and better...i like it a lot better than AIM+ (an no spyware as far as we know!)

As for cloning, My AIM --> Edit DeadAIM Options --> Clone AIM... are you blind or something?

obviously DeadAIM 3 has so little flaws you had to come up with a lame excuse like that to give it a 1! :)

MookieNJ

MookieNJ reviewed v3.0 on Dec 10, 2002

DeadAIM wasn't updated for a _LONG_ time until AIM+ became so popular. Don't count on seeing many updates once the developers get bored of it again.

AWESOME program! bit of a problem with the transparency setting thing though.. you have to actually drag the little slider or it doesn't hold the setting. ie, if i click where i want it on the slider, then it doesn't update the % and it will stay at whatever it was already at when i click ok.

2.05 is out on the author's website. The windows 98/ME crash bug has been fixed, there is first release logging and the notification popups are not clickable (left click opens message window, right click closes popup)

to cause it to quite send yourself a message, then close the buddylist window. im running windows Me. nice program..

LordJezo

LordJezo reviewed v2.04 Beta on Jul 24, 2002

All right! With the bug fixed and the new beta up this tool us the best for simple AIM use. Plus, with the pop up window functionality I can use AIM with ease when my speakers are off.

eviljolly

eviljolly reviewed v2.04 Beta on Jul 24, 2002

It's an alright program, it serves it's purpose, but I perfer AIM+ for functionality. It includes features such as logging, ad removal, cloning (running duplicate instances of AIM), as well as window transparency. As far as what jd3nn1s was saying about spyware, please visit this link for more information... http://discuss.big-o-sof...com/viewtopic.php?t=766

DeadAIM itself is an awesome program, but this version is flawed and causes AIM to quit when closing chat windows.

Be sure to get the latest version, 2.04, instead as the bug is fixed: goto JDennis.net to get it.

dkratter

dkratter reviewed v2.03 Beta on Jul 24, 2002

This is definitely improving with each version. I like the MSN-style notifications as well.

I'd like to see a real GUI for the DeadAIM options, rather than having to go back to the My AIM menu option each time I want to make a change. If I have to make multiple changes at once, its very inconvenient. A GUI would also allow you the opportunity to explain what each option does.

I'd also like to be able to remove the toolbar and 'Online'/'List Setup' tabs as well, possibly with a hotkey to toggle those on and off.

Those features, as well as the logging (whenever that feature is completed and enabled) would make me switch to this instead of AIM+.

mikejd1 reviewed v2.02 Beta on Jul 22, 2002

WOW! new notifications like msn, PERFECT! now, small suggestion, allow the user to click the notification box to open the IM window, and also "sound" to notify when the user has come online. :)

jpk311

jpk311 reviewed v2.01 Beta on Jul 14, 2002

Adequate program, serves its purpose. I still prefer AIM+ though, but if it comes down it, I'll use whichever program comes out with tabbed IM's first.

crane reviewed v2.00 Beta on Jul 13, 2002

awesome program, 1.02 was nice, 2.0 is even better!-- i love how it's in the menus and everything-- i wish it was the author would make an option to remove the aim send mail icon-- that would be sweet-- now if only someone would come up with a spellcheck addon for aim :o)

Flawlessly does what other programs promised but failed to adequately do - that is remove the ad and search panels from AIM. Works perfectly (w/ AIM 4.4.2286 on win98 anyway) taking up a little less than .5mb in mem ..well worth it.

shinoman

shinoman reviewed v1.02 on Jun 16, 2001

So far so good. I installed it and it seems to be working fine.
I edited it before so the banners were missing. But the spaces for the banners were still there. This program completes what i wanted to do. Good Job.

CrowaX

This is the best ad removal program I have seen. I have been using it for about 6 months, and no serious problems. It sometimes takes up some extra memory (goes from 2mb to 8mb of ram). But I have only notices this happen a few times.
