I'd be really interested to know what things this cleans that CCleaner can't, especially considering the latter's winapp2.ini extensibility.

This Alpha version seems to have a bug. On some machines, not all, it throws an access violation.
However, the reeleas version 1.55 works fine!

Absolutely brilliant, small, fast and does what it says on the tin and more if you get all the plug ins and or make your own ones.
The full version with all available plug ins can be found at the following. http://www.xs4all.nl/~mp2004/download.html

Better, similar apps out there, ie, CCleaner (CrapCleaner), also freeware, but doesn't need to have plugins install to work its magic

Well, as for me, I give it a 5, plain and simple.
First off, it's completely free. Some people are always raving "Ahah, these morons give it a 5 because it's free instead of rating based on features". I guess that these are the kind of people that are ready to shell out £50 for a hammer if it does indeed bang in the nails, and refuse to admit that a £1 hammer does the job just as well anyway. If they didn't pay for it, then it must be useless! But price is not the only appeal here. Secondly, it's updated often. So new plugins (we'll touch base on that later) and software enhancements are always on the way. Thirdly, it does the job, well and fast. Forthly, the interface is minimalistic, everything you need is there, everything not needed isn't, so bloat free. You tick once all "categories" you want cleaned (settings will be saved so you don't need to do it ever again, and it's not saved in the registry), then you click one button and that's it (you have to click another button to close the summary, but compared to window washer, you still save few mouse clicks).
As for plugins: well, it's a program that's supposed to be adapted to act on specific locations of the hard drive. So either you're like me and say "aw, just gimme all of it" and that's is why I download the "All files in one zip archive" archive from the web site, or you want to customise its behaviour because you do have such and such, but not this and that, and consequently you don't want all but only the relevant bits. Unless you go the way of the author and develop a plugin based program (that commercial software like Window Washer do to), I don't see any other alternative.
