DocFetcher seems to good to be true, and it is, unfortunately.
First, unfortunately, DocFetcher relies on jre, and even when jre is properly installed (both x86 and x64 versions on Win 7), it simply cannot find the existing jre installation. Moreover, DocFetcher then insists on downloading another instance of jre and installing it itself, thus overwriting the existing good installation.
"Installation of the Java runtime through DocFetcher's Windows installer was broken due to recent changes in the Java runtime installer".
Well, it still isn't fixed!! As above, no recent working version of jre (or jdk) that's already installed satisfies DocFetcher. This is a totally unacceptable bug, and as it's escaped through the QA process on more than one occasion/update, then clearly one has to seriously question the product's general viability.
As DocFetcher 1.1.14 is clearly broken, you'd be much better off sticking to something that actually works, Copernic or X1 or instance.
(If you can't afford either of these then, try Everything which is free. It doesn't index inside files unfortunately, but nevertheless it's a damn good file search engine, and it's blindly fast at that.)
