Publisher's Description

EasyCleaner is a small program which searches Windows' registry for entries that are pointing nowhere. Deleting these entries will speed your computer up. But as you already might know, deleting entries from registry can be dangerous for your computer, so it is wise to make a backup of your registry. It also lets you delete all kinds of unnecessary files like temps, backups, etc. You can search for duplicate files and you can view some intresting info about your disk space usage and deleting invalid shortcuts from start-menu is possible as well.

In short. East cleaner is one of the best registry and file cleaner I have ever tried.
I am impressed by the developer approach to safety, as he created a real good individual undo option for deleted registry keys in case of problem. (that never occurred)

Deleted keys are listed and can be undone one by one. The developer even took care of adding lights to the deleted registry keys to show whether they are still missing or the Windows system has recreated or changed them since they were deleted.

Tried many cleaners and that remained on my PC.

Easycleaner is still free. His homepage was hijacked and his program stolen and sold for money as it is a valuable high quality software.
Tonyarts new URL is http://personal.inet.fi/business/toniarts/ where you can download it free or from here of course.

WTF? Blacklist #9 has been out for 2-3+ months. Why now mention it on Betanews?

EasyCleaner along with Hoverdesk's Regseeker are the best Registry cleaners available. Nothing in freeware comes close!

Works fine for me. The Registry cleaner is aggressive, but that's why they throw up the dialog that says 'ARE YOU SURE YOU WANT TO DELETE?'

I find this an effective, easy to use little program that does what it says. The startup manager is really useful to get rid of those unwanted programs that set themselves up to start at boot up.
There seems to be a problem at the moment (06/2005) as Toni, who is in Finland seems to have had his toniarts.com site hi-jacked! The toniarts site is charging $19.95 to get his programs which are really "donation ware"

I'm confused by ToniArts' purpose for EasyCleaner: First it was freeware, then it briefly shifted to shareware, then it became [mandatory] donationware, and now it's back to freeware? There are FAR better registry utilities around, and I could even name two, but the last time I suggested another app in a review, the complainers got me banned. So just google "great software."

Overrated, as usual, simply because it's freeware. It's handy, I guess, if you can't or won't pay for a real set of utilities, but it leaves much to be desired. As just a couple examples: The registry cleaner doesn't let you jump to a listed registry key in Regedit; the duplicate file function offers no options, and doesn't do a full file comparison (I'm guessing it uses the crappy CRC-32 algorithm).

Wow, I'm blown away with all the functionality this program offers... especially for free. Eliminated the need for a couple of other programs, and fits it all into a neat package. Give it a shot!

been using this program since 1.3 and it's always been rock solid. the registry cleaner isnt as thorough as jv16 power tools (regcleaner) but it always manages to find things that jv16 misses. the startmenu cleaner is handy every once in a while and the other functions are usable every now and then. my main use is a quick reg cleaner. good work. been almost 26 months since ive last seen an update for it

Have been using EasyCleaner since version 1.5. Version 2.0 beta now supports Windows and Office XP without entries in the skip boxes in the registry and unnesessary files cleaners. It still requires .bkg to be entered in the registry cleaners skip dialog box if you have the Roxio Easy CD creator 5.x suite installed. But hopefully this will be fixed an a future beta or gold release.
If you use this Cleaner along with the one in the jvPowerTools programme you've probably cleaned your registry as much as possible apart from manual cleaning (dangerous!)

I've used 1.7f happily for years.
This has nothing particularly different in its functionality, except speed and XP support but there is a new GUI.
Help is still the 1.7f version.
No problems yet (once you get used to the new style !)
