Publisher's Description
Handy Start Menu program allows you to get rid of this problem by grouping Start menu applications into categories according to their purpose. Because applications are sorted automatically, the user is not required to do anything in most situations.

I am inclined to remove my previous posting. In the spirit of forgiveness and because I was contacted by some one who made some attempt to make some excuses in lieu of an apology. the reply was too little and quite late but it was' a sign of caring.
I hope this project will continue to grow and achieve its potential as a useful resource.

I really don't see the point of this program, it does nothing that can't be done manually with half a brain? I also don't like it adding to start with Windows, there is far too much junk that has to start with windows as it is. You are far better spending a little time making your own folders according to your needs.
A pointless program.

Thank you for your comment!
We are considering a new feature that will allow to transform the folder to a user category. With this function your problem will be solved (you'll be able to reorder the items from the new user category, if necessary).

This program is very promising
I'd like to see better documentation for the situation of existing folders that a user has already made. I had quite a few in C:\Users\{name}\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs folder
if a user wishes to let Handy Start Menu automatically organize the menu then I suggest one archive the existing structure as a backup and then put the default application menu folders in the root of \Start Menu\Programs\ folder.
The ability to override the existing folder structure would be nice. I have folders
`games
`hw
`media
`net
`sec
`sys
with the application installation generated menu folders in them. Handy Start Menu did not allow me to move the application installation generated menus without maintaining my user created folders so I backed up my old setup and moved all the application installation generated menu folders out of my `**** folders.

No visual style customization at all. Uses Windows 2000 default font. Menu always opens to full size with awful transparency covering most of screen, even if there's only one item to display. Automatic dividers in menus have no organizational purpose. Might be promising if it could be modified to actually look like part of the OS instead of a blurry, random disaster.

This is kinda ridiculous as you can create as many categories as you want within your start menu. Create new folders in your start menu and sort your shortcuts that way. No big deal. Useless program.
