Explorer 9 is way better than explorer 8. If you install it, you will not be sorry.

At first I was happy with IE9, but now after having used it for a while after its official release, this thing is as buggy as can be. Its dang annoyingly buggy. I can't belive they released this as a final product.

My apologies to Microsoft. This is a vast improvement over the prevous version. I'm going to use this as my default browser. Since i'm lauching from an SSD, I don't concern myself with speed.

Its faster and a definite improvement over Internet Explorer 8, but I hate the new GUI. It does earn a 95/100 on ACID3, but its still my least favorite browser. The fact that its only for Windows Vista/7 is the reason I'm rating it so low.

Slower than both Firefox 4 and Chrome 10 and still has the worst compatibility with standards. Also has lowest score in Acid3 test! :(

The gui is just awful. Impossible to customize. Whoever has been designing the ie interface since 7 should be smacked across the face on sight. Deplorable piece of trash.

A lot of things happened when I installed this, most of them not good. In Microsoft speak RC must mean alpha.

Not a huge IE fan, but this is indeed the best version they've come out with.

A great improvement over the beta, which seemed to crash and crash, and then crash again. The Release Candidate does seem to be ready for release ... very stable, very fast, and very, very usable. Assuming that MS has designed it to be as safe as IE8, which has been shown to be the safest browser (contrary to many Firefox fanboys beliefs), this is certainly MS's best browser yet. If I have one complaint ... it looks too much like Chrome.

Working well so far. For a beta this is good. I think they have a lot to do before prime release. As for the toolbars, I had no problem putting more than one on the same line and them staying there.
A few sites including fileforum don't fully display correctly in IE9, but then that is probably not down to MS, that comes down most likely to bad coding on the site.
Fortunatly a lot of web devs have made site cross browser compatiable for a few years now, now it's really time the others do.

MUCH better and faster then IE 8. So far, I'm liking it. Time will tell!

I uninstalled IE9 immediately after installing this not-ready for prime time browser.
Reason is that this irritating beta version insists on putting each add-on on a separate menu toolbar, so when each add-on that I have takes a whole menu toolbar the complete menu toolbars on top become so thick that the main browser page shrinks to an acceptable small size. When unlocking the Toolbars and moving my add-ons to where I want them to be placed (as I can do successfully in IE8) then locking them, when restarting IE9 all the add-ons stubbornly reverted back to their original settings where each add-on occupied its own separate toolbar. I could not keep them locked the way I customized.
Open letter to Microsoft: please fix this very irritating bug. Thank you.

thanks very much for the heads up on flash, wiseolcat. ie still won't be replacing opera or ff anytime soon, but ie9 is worlds better than ie5 (when i gave up on ie). there's a lot of wasted screen realestate at the top, and i'd really prefer a separate tab bar at the bottom of the screen. but ie9 seems snappier than ie8 (with the same addons/accelerators. perhaps ie10 will truly start competing with modern browsers.
