My experience is just the opposite: Tardis 2000 (version 1.6) is perfectly reliable for me, and when I ran NTPTime 4.3 as a service, it would keep exiting for no apparent reason.

My favorite NTP client software, simply because (1) It tries alternate servers in case of error, and (2) It is just plain reliable.

I thought that Tardis 2000 was a good choice as well, until I ran it overnight and saw that it failed to query any NTP servers (why, I have no idea, but it was configured to check hourly).

NTPTime could stand to have a few cherry-on-top features thrown in (ability to use random servers, ability to adjust clock rate rather than just resetting the time, etc.). It's open source, so maybe when I have more time and energy I'll give it a go.

Really needs an installer. But it's still great.

Setup is ridiculously inconvenient, but the software works very well. NTPTime can try alternate servers upon failure, which is a feature that many lesser utilities in this genre don't bother with (ah--reliability, who needs it?).

I'm rating a 4 for setup, and a couple bugs I found.
