I'm going to troll and give it a 4 based on previous versions.
- Decent Lens Correction (DxO is Better)
- Limited to NEF format for RAW input.
The Nikon press release on their website was rather boring and most of the new features are present in DxO and Lightroom. Nikon is really just playing catchup - although I am curious to see how the interface has been improved. NX v1.x had a horrible interface that was unintuitive and rather cumbersome.
ffective workflow with processing RAW images is extremely important to me. Lightroom is decent, however, it really pushes organization by metatags too much and it lacks lens correction which completely destryos it for me.
I've found that hands down, the best RAW Image Processing software is DxO. For processing wide angle shots and fisheye lens shots, it's correction is phenominal, and it does an amazing job of fixing images based upon the camera body and lenses used.
Like NX, it cannot input DNG files, however, it does export as DNG (albeit linear DNG files which are HUGE)!
So if you like Capture NX, do yourself a favor and try DxO.

Rating it high because it does what it needs to. And because this version is WAY faster than 1.3. And the Auto Retouch Brush is unbelievably cool and "just works". You don't need to clone an area of the screen like you do in other apps.

I think it's a great and very intuitive piece of software. Conception is pretty original too. But I suggest you don't compare it to PS, it's a totally different (lower, of course) level. But all in all, I really do think it's a GREAT effort!

Really a great piece of software for editing RAW files as well.
Best feature is the use of control points.
