ok guys...
Couple days I've been trying to connect old 5140i to PC. Wasted like 8 hours of my life and I really hate when I need few hours to make things that should be made in 10 mins.
Anyway...
CA-42 cable didn’t work for me in any way and I tried bunch of different tips and tricks.
Then I took DKU-5 cable and guess what? I connected 5140i to PC in 20 min
It wasn’t smooth but 20 mins it’s not 8 hours huh..
I did uninstall everything to clean and made it again for this guide so it's work for me 100% and I hope it’s gonna work 100% for you too.
So my system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Download PL-2303 USB Controller from http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/downloads.asp?id=31
Version 1.5 available at this time
So…
1. Connect DUK-5 cable to USB

5. At the main Nokia PC Suite window go to Settings > Manage connections and unclick Serial cable (CA-42). I tried maybe 10 times to not unclick but it was impossible to connect phone so unclick it

6. Connect phone to the cable. You’ll see message Data enhancement connected following by Data enhancement not supported.
Sometimes there is only 1st message but usually both or sometimes you if you get 2nd message you need reconnect phone not to get 2nd message again. But this is doesn’t matter because you can connect phone anyway
7. At the main Nokia PC Suite window go to Settings >Add more phones. Choose Cable connection > Next

With the Connectivity Adapter Cable DKU-5 you can connect your Nokia phone to
a USB compatible PC for data transfer. You can synchronise data (for example, a
calendar, phone book or a to-do list) between your phone and a compatible
organiser software by using the PC Suite software supplied with the phone.
The Connectivity Adapter Cable DKU-5 is compatible with phones with a Pop-
Port™ interface connector, for example, the Nokia 7210 mobile phone.
