Yes, netean... do try windows update. MS Update now requires Automatic Updates to be turned on to get a lot of upgrades.... even when periodically updating manually. As well, not all updates are shown initially, those that depend on a previous pack only get shown after its install.

So even if you don't want to have Auto Updating on all the time, turn it on when you manually update...and run Windows Update 2-3 times in a row for good measure(click each time on 'check for updates' even if Windows Is Up To Date message is displayed).

Or use:
Windiz Update

It works on both XP and Vista

Could it be this one?
[.NET sp2]

or this one:
[.net ver. 2]
http://www.microsoft.com...04F5&displaylang=en

I have both and this upgrade works perfectly. You really should try Windows Update :)

it requires, m$ .net 3..

Sadly I've already got .net 2 and .net 3.5 but it still wants me to download v3. Trouble is that .net installer tells me to install service pack 2 first (I'm running vista... there is no SP2!)

Guess this is XP ONLY.

Didn't someone think to notice this during testing?
