OpenOffice.org Portable is a fully-functional package of OpenOffice.org optimized for use on a USB key drive. It has some specially selected optimizations to make it perform faster and extend the life of your USB key as well as a specialized launcher that will allow you to launch it from the directory of your choice. It will also work from a CDRW drive (in packet mode), ZIP drives, external hard drives, some MP3 players, flash RAM cards and more.

For home user openoffice is perfect and will work very well.

Let me be clear. I am rating the software, and not the fact that it is free (otherwise, please add one star!)
was very competitive prior to office 2007 (and believe me, i really wasn't a Microsoft office fan). Now it looks like an old-looking out-of-time software again. Despite a high level of functionality, accessibility and usability are poor in my opinion.
Too bad they didn't use the jump to V3 to release a really new product.
