Publisher's Description

PDF SpeedUp allows you to significantly speed up the time it takes to load Adobe Reader. If you notice that when the Reader starts it loads many plug-ins which you may or may not need, this program simply disables the plug-ins and loads only the absolute necessary ones so the program starts quickly. It offers several options and you can also manually enable or disable the plug-ins as needed. PDF SpeedUp works with Acrobat versions 3 through 6.xx.

Still working fine now on Adobe Reader 9. It does speed up, even if I've never found Adobe Reader to be as slow to load as commonly stated by many.

It does what it says it should, and I had no problems...

To the person complaining about the translations... there is a contact link on the web page for the product, why don't you help the developer out by emailing a more accurate translation for future builds! I'm sure the developer would appreciate it. :)

This program did not work with my adobe reader 6. But it has an option to restore and then luckly it worked again. I then downloaded the lastest Adobe reader 7 and ranned the program once again and it worked as said.

Useful for the older versions moreso than 7.0 still so 5 stars. 7.0 still loads a whole lot faster even without the preloading.

rseiler: That's because it preloads everything at boot time, wasting memory and boot time. Check in your Startup folder.

They listened to the complaints of slow starting, but they arrogantly assumed that everyone intends to load Reader at least once every reboot, so they preloaded most of it.

So PDF SpeedUp is still a very essential tool if you want to improve performance without sacrificing system resources.

Note: v7.0 of Reader is fast all on its own.

Quite useless app. Check out the installation directory of Adobe Reader, notice the sub-directory called 'plug_ins', delete unnecessary plugins (or move them to the 'optional' folder, created for this very purpose by Adobe install). To get info about which file to move/delete visit the Help/About...plugins menu option in Reader.
The other options you can change in Reader's options menu too.

Rated 2 instead of 1 because the proggy seems to work.

Very good program. The reinstall issue could be caused by first time launch after Acrobat Reader installation I guess.

That's nonsense. This program is THE best of speeding up yet another SLOW Adobe program. Get this; it's free, fast, and WORKS.

A very nice program but Adobe Reader refuses to work with it. After speeding up Adobe Reader reinstalls itself, so my rating is 3 for almost doing his job right.
