Publisher's Description
Pale Moon is the work of a single individual, using contributed Open Source code to create a full-featured, speed optimized version of the popular Firefox browser. Having seen the advantages on other systems (e.g. Linux) with regards to programs being compiled specifically for the capabilities of the machine it is installed on, it became obviously clear that Windows users were at a disadvantage: Mozilla only releases windows executables with maximum compatibility in mind, meaning that Firefox is made to run on as many different systems as possible, sacrificing efficiency and speed in the process to be compatible with, by current standards, absolutely ancient hardware.
Pale Moon is a middle road, cutting away support for ancient systems to achieve a significant speed and efficiency increase, but not trying to squeeze the last few percent more out of it by limiting the range of systems it will run on even more. It aims to not waste computer resources and power on inefficient programs, while at the same time serving a wide range of systems that are currently in use around the world.

With this version I'm putting Pale Moon back as my default browser. Been having some issues with Waterfox lately. Long ago left Seamonkey, Firefox and Cyberfox. Not into Chrome, and forget about Edge and I.E.

Pretty good. Been fooling around with this for a day now. Only couple sites had problems. All my add on's and themes came over which is a major plus. I love the Moonscape theme. Brings back that old school Netscape feel.

I used this for a while, then tried cyberfox.. then just went back to firefox. At this stage there are good replacements for all the addons that went extinct with FF59, so Im back and all is working well.

I've used Pale Moon for many years and am satisfied with PM's performance relative to FF and other browsers similar to FF and will continue to use it unless it becomes unusable.

Absolutely terrible. Earlier versions of Pale Moon were very, very good. Have switched over to Cyberfox for all my browsing needs.

Tried this. Seems to be highly compatible with Firefox addins.
Downside is it seems to carry over some of the process hanging of the faults that stopped me from using Firefox (close firefox, then restart - often does not restart and 2 instances hanging in memory). Too bad because I like FF (and some of its clones like this) over Chrome/IE/Edge/Opera.
I can only give it a 4 because I do not find it as useful as I would like.

Still my go to browser, small light, no real problems on any site I visit. As others have said, what Fire Fox was in the beginning and should have been all along until the "gee whiz, let's add this to it" crowd started developing it.

Really liked the earlier versions. Too many issues with websites with Pale Moon using the Goanna engine. Prefer Cyberfox.

Ever since Pale Moon starting using the Goanna engine, many sites I use on a daily basis don't recognize it. Especially the site I use for my online daily banking. Don't have this issue at all whilst using SeaMonkey, Firefox, Cyberfox, K-Meleon. The earlier versions of Pale Moon were very, very good. And no, I'm not a Pale Moon hater. Not at all. The browser does show promise, IMHO it just needs further work. Will check in on newer versions and check the progress.

Pros: Very quick. Lots of old school ad on's and themes. Old school over all feel to the u.i.
Cons: Really none so far.
Bottom Line: With this version I'm putting Pale Moon back as my default browser. Been having some issues with Waterfox lately. Long ago left Seamonkey, Firefox and Cyberfox. Not into Chrome, and forget about Edge and I.E.

Pros: works well with very few problems. Lots of themes and add on's to choose from
Cons: Some sites had problems but only a couple.
Bottom Line: Pretty good. Been fooling around with this for a day now. Only couple sites had problems. All my add on's and themes came over which is a major plus. I love the Moonscape theme. Brings back that old school Netscape feel.

Pros: Has been around for many years and still functional and works with many firefox addons (however not all sometimes due to version number differences and other differences)
Cons: Some firefox addons might not work and that is important to some users. Continued differences between firefox and Pale Moon almost since inception.
Bottom Line: I've used Pale Moon for many years and am satisfied with PM's performance relative to FF and other browsers similar to FF and will continue to use it unless it becomes unusable.

Still giving a 4 because a couple sites are having issues with it. But for the most part, its pretty good. Got allot of old firefox themes and add on's to work with these newer versions. So its like browsing in the old days in allot of ways.

Very good so far. Had problems with the initial 26 release. But these last couple releases seem to have fixed those problems.

Is Pale Moon EVER going to work properly with MOST websites? And will they EVER update their ad blocker extension so that the browser doesn't take forever to load?
