Publisher's Description
PromptPal is a replacement GUI for the command prompt console, previously known as the DOS prompt. It turns the console into a Windows program, whilst still routing all your instructions through Microsoft's command processor. It is configurable, and provides command completion, syntax help, command history, save to file, integration with Windows Explorer and more. It also has an optional band that lives on your Windows task bar and acts like a hybrid of the Windows "Run..." box and the command prompt.

Doesn't work with certain console programs like McAfee's Scan.exe and since I deal with a lot of similar console programs, PromptPal is utterly useless for me.
On the other hand if you're working with standard output console programs, this may be a bit handy although the features like command completion are a bit rusty.
This program needs a LOT of tweaking and refining.

Personally, I like the free and open source Command Bar Explorer at http://www.codeproject.com/csharp/CommandBar.asp. It embeds itself in explorer so it's right there with your file system browser, and keeps in sync with the folder view. Few know of this utility. It's wonderful, and free. As for PromptPal, I must admit I haven't tried it.

This is a very cool idea for a program. It has some taskbar toolbar for quick command execution and there are definitely some unique features in this application. The only problem.. I can't imagine anyone spending money on a program like this. Although it is a cool idea, this isn't going to really help anyone THAT much.
