www.tooLongPath.com saved me lot of time for solving this

I wish this would be updated for 64-bit operating systems as this cleans up hotfixes that CCleaner even misses. The fact that it works so well on all 32-bit OSes even new ones is great.

Retract my last rating...nice proggie.

The author has a nag splash screen in place, which forces you to wait 30 seconds to dismiss it--unless you pony up $5 to get rid of it. Give me a break. This isn't mentioned anywhere on the author's site (that I can readily find, anyway). Considering how utterly simple this thing is, and the fact that he didn't even think to make the window resizable (Gee, you didn't want to be able to easily see all of the Hotfixes you were about to delete, did you?), he won't be getting my 5 note anytime soon. You know your software is pathetic when you can't get people to pay for it to unlock additional functionality, or even to reward you for providing a truly useful utility--but rather, you have to create artificial annoyances in an attempt to bother them into paying you!

Worked like it said it would and have had no problems after removing the extra junk off of my computer, as well as Windows Update after I used it and restarted or even without restarting

I find it very useful. You can of course delete hotfix backups manually, but this little utility does it in an instant, causing no problems of any kind on my XP machine.

Just installed it and went to Windows Update to see if I could just update my XP. This is the screen I got:
"Thank you for your interest in Windows Update
Windows Update is the online extension of Windows that helps you get the most out of your computer.
The latest version of Windows Update is available on computers that are running Microsoft Windows 98, Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Millennium Edition, Windows 2000 (except Windows 2000 Datacenter Server), Windows XP, and the Windows Server 2003 family."
I wouldn't suggest installing this.

Great app. Works without problems. I have had an XP installation from 8 months ago with sp1a added and there was a ton of hotfix entries in my add/remove program list. This cleaned it and I have no problems updating again or anything.

Hmmmm sounds like a great program! Especially after over 20 updates to Windows XP SP1 those hotfix backup files are probably starting to rack up lots of space! But I'm a little reluctant to try this... since it is doing some pretty serious things to your system (might cause windowsupdate to work incorrectly???) so i'll wait for some more reviews here and hope some people have good experience with it
