this gets a 5 as it is awesome and fast and does not include all that junk that is included in the windows version and for the poster below you can get it from the repositories(check all of them)

Vuze toolbar (ask) is evil !!!

I have just installed 4.0.4 downloaded from official site:

Vuze_4.0.0.4_windows.exe

This file has been downloaded from:
http://ufpr.dl.sourcefor...uze_4.0.0.4_windows.exe

Date: 2008-11-22, 02:09

Uninstalling the ask tool bar from the control panel destroyed my windows installation: It deleted lots of files and folders:

1. From my root folder, including:
1.1. the windows recovery console (c:\cmdcons)
1.2. several folders with names starting with "B"
1.3. all the files with names starting with "a" thru "f" boot.ini is gone, hence the error at boot time

2. Everything from "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users"

3. Many files and folders from my user profile "C:\Documents and Settings\juan"

I was just preparing for Fedora 10 download... this is a disgrace!!! is it a virus ? *in any way you should stop distributing this !!*

Great program for Linux or Windows. My last review of this program for Linux was rather lackluster shall we say and purely a result of my own lack of experience (at the time) under Linux. Having said that, I would like to apologize to the people on this site and the developers of this fine program (yes i realize the developers probably don't frequent this site. Just a formality)

For Ubuntu users:
The ubuntu repositories contain the old version of azureus which I found to be very buggy(random crashes, low download speed).
Got the updated deb from http://www.getdeb.net/app.php?name=Azureus

Works flawlessly.

As much as I detest Java and this programme's ridiculous resource needs, Azureus is pretty incredible as far as its functionality is concerned.

Ha ha!!!

Got it to work on Mandrake Linux and it is working great!!!

If your Linux Distro doesn't come with Java pre-installed and you have to install java in a folder other than /usr/java/ it's just a plain pain in the backside. You'll be lucky if you even get it to work.
