Not the best interface in the world. Why it is skinnable I don't know, but I guess someone figured the default interface was bad enough that you had to be able to make a new one. The conversion process is straight-forward and easy, even though the files are not renamed. You can easily batch convert, but the program lack profiles so you have to manually edit the settings all the time (unless you're happy with one setting, of course). Very strange for a $45 program. On the other hand you have lots of settings to change - for all your tweaking needs. It does not include a transfer utility, so you have to cut and paste (and know where to put it..).
It's quite fast, compared to other converters, and still the quality is acceptable. A guesstimate is that it's 10-30% faster than PSPVideo9 and 3GP Converter. A nice feature is that you can include subtitles and you can choose audiotrack when ripping a DVD.
Is it worth $45? Maybe for the subtitles. And to be honest. That PSPVideo9 is free doesn't mean it's actually better. It's limited, rather slow and has a horrible interface (even worse than Xilisoft's).
3GP Converter is also free, and much better than PSPVideo9 in some aspects.
4/5 for the DVD-ripping and speed. 3/5 for the rest.
